The Herald does NOT offer technical support for specific hardware and software problems. These include the installation and operation of Adobe Acrobat; browsers such as Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator; or computers and operating systems.
  Please consult the program's help files, the manufacturer's Web site or a computer vendor if you need assistance in those areas.
  • Logon names and passwords are case-sensitive. Be sure you are using all lowercase characters.
  • Protect your password.
    • If you lose or forget it, please use the password lookup from the homepage.
    • Notify us immediately if you believe your logon and password have been stolen. Users are responsible for the use and misuse of their account. Password sharing is grounds for termination of your account under the user agreement
    • Never click "Remember Password" if your browser ask if you are logging in from a public computer, such as at a library, school or cyber cafe. (For your own computer, however, "Remember Password" is a useful tool to save you the trouble of typing it each time you visit).
          In MS Internet Explorer, even if you do not select Remember Password, the browser uses your password for access to additional password-protected pages. Netscape Navigator remembers your password without asking. YOU MUST QUIT THE BROWSER TO CLEAR THE PASSWORD FROM MEMORY AND KEEP OTHERS FROM MISUSING YOUR ACCOUNT. If you have told the browser to Remember Password and want to clear it, consult your browser's help files for instructions on how to remove it.

  • Be sure your account is paid and current. If your logon has stopped working, it could be that your account is past due. Contact Circulation (number below) for more information.

  • Occasionally a page or a preview thumbnail may be missing. Sometimes for production reasons we are unable to generate the .pdf from the printed page. But if there is a blank preview thumbnail, the .pdf page might still exist. If it does, you'll see the size in brackets -- such as "[ 184k ]" -- above the blank preview.
